Every two months the Commerce Commission publishes feature articles in the newsletter Bulletin – News direct from the Commerce Commission.

The Bulletin covers a mix of regulation and competition issues. Articles inform about the Commission's thinking, feature case studies and general Commission news. The newsletter also contains updates on consultations, highlight new resources on our website and international news.

Putting the brake on unsafe chainsaws

Under the Fair Trading Act, the Commission enforces a number of bans relating to unsafe products. Chainsaws without a chain brake were added to the Unsafe Goods Notice in 2012 because of the high risk of injury they pose and the increasing number of accidents being reported.

Step closer to final wholesale broadband prices

In early July we took a further step toward finalising the wholesale broadband prices Chorus can charge internet service providers (ISPs). In total we released over 1400 pages of documentation, which is a useful illustration of the significant amount of work Commission staff and the industry have put into this project.
