We work with the consumer advisory sector to ensure we hear about the issues that cause consumers harm and to protect the wider community from unlawful trade practices.
The Commission produces resources to help consumers and the consumer advisory sector. This includes video guidance, fact sheets, brochures and our animated series It's All Good. We also have initiatives like Red Flags, which is a reporting tool to help our work in the lender sector.
We value the contribution from the consumer advisory sector who are in a position to alert us to market practices that may not come to our attention otherwise.
Red Flags is a reporting initiative that we launched to ensure we hear about issues that cause harm to consumers when they borrow money. It aims to help consumer advocates, like budget advisors and community lawyers, better identify lender conduct that may be unlawful and to make a report to us.
The Commission produces guidance brochures to help consumers understand their rights and to help businesses understand their obligations. These are available in a few different languages.
