During June 2018 the Commission held three lender seminars in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch.
The seminars are intended to inform the industry on credit law, update them on Commission guidance material, and our activity and priorities. Importantly, they also help the Commission better understand the issues that lenders are facing.
The Commission also works closely with the consumer advisory sector to help monitor trade practice. At the 2018 Auckland event Tim Barnett, CE of the National Building Financial Capability Charitable Trust, spoke about the new representative body for budget advisory services and how it intends to work with the Commission and the lending sector.
Videos of the Auckland presentations are below, as well as the opening address to the Wellington event by the Honourable Kris Faafoi, Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.
