Input methodologies (IMs) are the rules, requirements and processes that underpin regulation under Part 6 of the Telecommunications Act. We will have to apply the IMs when we set price-quality paths and set information disclosure requirements. Regulated businesses will also be required to apply the IMs.

The purpose of IMs is to promote certainty for regulated fibre service providers, access seekers, and end-users in relation to the rules, requirements, and processes applying to the regulation, or proposed regulation, of fibre fixed line access services.

The latest consolidated version of the fibre input methodologies was published on 12 July 2021 and does not incorporate the amendments made after that date. The further amendments are outlined in our final decisions from 29 September 2021 and 29 November 2021 in the timeline below.
