Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd

Jetstar Airways Pty Limited (Jetstar) has been fined $2.25 million after pleading guilty to 20 representative charges under section 13(i) of the Fair Trading Act 1986. Jetstar made false or misleading representations to consumers about their rights to compensation when flights were delayed or cancelled for reasons within its control. These representations were made directly to individual passengers and to groups of passengers though automated emails and compensation messaging on Jetstar’s website.
