The Commission has completed an investigation into potentially anti-competitive conduct by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO). Specifically, the Commission investigated a letter sent by RANZCO to its members, which counselled its members against facilitating optometrists to perform certain types of laser eye procedures. We have issued a compliance advice letter to RANZCO reminding it of its obligations under the Commerce Act 1986.
