We asked how we should prioritise these issues when planning our work programme in the near term, particularly considering emerging issues that relate to New Zealand’s decarbonisation and use of new energy sector technologies (the “energy transition”) and the impacts of COVID-19.

On 7 December 2021, we held a workshop to discuss the impact of decarbonisation on electricity lines services and invited further submissions from participants.

We thank parties for their submissions and we will take these into consideration as we plan upcoming processes such as the reset of the default price-quality paths for Gas Pipeline Businesses, and our statutory review of input methodologies under Part 4 of the Commerce Act.
