Input methodologies for fibre are the rules, requirements and processes that we are required to develop under Part 6 of the Telecommunications Act. We are currently developing these fibre input methodologies.
Input methodologies (IMs) are the rules, requirements and processes that underpin regulation under Part 6 of the Telecommunications Act. We will have to apply the IMs when we set price-quality paths and set information disclosure requirements. Regulated businesses will also be required to apply the IMs.
The purpose of IMs is to promote certainty for regulated fibre service providers, access seekers, and end-users in relation to the rules, requirements, and processes applying to the regulation, or proposed regulation, of fibre fixed line access services.
We intend to develop the IMs for fibre fixed line access services by June 2020. Information relating to this process can be found through the links below including a timeline for our planned consultation steps.
