The Telecommunications Act (the Act) allows us to specify points of interconnection (SPOIs) which are places in wholesale networks where responsibility for fibre services is handed over from a regulated fibre provider to other commercial service providers.
The Commission first prescribed the regulated fibre providers' SPOIs by public notice on 19 December 2019 and amended with our latest notice on 27 March 2024.
We exercise our role under s 231 of the Act to amend by public notice the list of specified regulated providers’ SPOIs under the framework set out in this notice.
