Gas pipelines businesses can apply for exemptions or modifications to information disclosure requirements in some circumstances.
Applications may occur in circumstances where the supplier does not believe they can practically apply or implement the requirements, or where they consider modifications would better promote an understanding of whether they are complying with Part 4 of the Commerce Act.
We assess each exemption request focusing on the reason for the application, as well as the potential impact on the purpose of information disclosure if the request is granted.
We have included the ability to provide exemptions from requirements in the respective information disclosure determinations.
Response letters to gas pipelines businesses whose exemption requests have been granted since 2015 are available below. We have not published declined exemption requests, or exemptions granted prior to 2015.
A supplier seeking an exemption from information disclosure requirements should send its request to firstname.lastname@example.org. The request should include the requirements from which exemption is being sought, the period for which the exemption is sought, as well as the reasons why the supplier is seeking the exemption.
