The Commerce Commission has received an application from Flint Group Holdings to acquire up to 100% of the assets of Siegwerk New Zealand Limited.

Flint Group Holdings is a multi-national company headquartered in Luxembourg. Its business comprises the manufacture, importation and distribution of printing inks and printing ink consumables. It has a manufacturing plant located in Penrose, Auckland.

Siegwerk New Zealand Limited is a subsidiary of Siegwerk Group International, a multi-national company headquartered in Germany. Siegwerk manufactures packaging inks at a plant located in East Tamaki, Auckland. It is also involved in the importation and distribution of printing inks and printing ink consumables.

In considering the application, the Commission's role is to determine whether the acquisition has the effect of substantially lessening competition in a market.
