Commission receives application for bitstream reconsideration from ihug

The Commerce Commission has received an application from ihug for reconsideration of Decision 582 on the price of the regulated bitstream service supplied by Telecom to ihug and CallPlus.

The Commission will consider ihug's application and seek comment from Telecom and CallPlus. Should the Commission choose to accept the application, it will issue a draft determination, followed by a final determination, amending or replacing Decision 582.
Bitstream is a circuit provided by Telecom between an end-user's premises and an ATM switch. This circuit is used by a telecommunications provider to deliver retail broadband services. A telecommunications provider must supply other components including international transmission, connection to the internet and ISP services.
