The Commerce Commission has granted clearance for Media Monitors Pty Limited to acquire all the business and assets of Chong Bureau Limited.

Commerce Commission Chair Paula Rebstock said, the Commission was satisfied that the proposed acquisition will not have, or would not be likely to have, the effect of substantially lessening competition in any of the relevant markets.

The Commission considered that post acquisition, the combined entity would be constrained by existing competition, low barriers to entry and the ability of customers to self-supply their media monitoring requirements.

Public versions of the written reasons for the decision will be available as soon as practicable on the Commission's website www.comcom.govt.nz under the Clearances Register.
