The Commission has filed seven charges under sections 13(c), 21C, and 36U of the Fair Trading Act 1986 against Beau Ideal Limited, trading as Advantage Tyre Solutions (formerly trading as Beaurepaires) for making false or misleading representations that a person had agreed to acquire services, has asserted a right to payment for unsolicited services, and selling extended warranties that failed to comply with the required disclosures under the Act. All charges relate to the supply of the ‘Road Hazard Cover’ extended warranty between 1 March 2019 and 31 July 2023.
