Judge Adeane convicted Lisa Morton in the Napier District Court this afternoon on two charges laid under section 24 of the Fair Trading Act 1986 for promoting two pyramid schemes, Joker 88 and Liberty Group Bonds.

The Judge found the corporate defendant, Liberty Group Bonds and Processing Limited, was just one among a number of props employed by Ms Morton to promote her schemes and dismissed the charges against the company, which is now in the process of being wound up.

Judge Adeane reserved sentencing until 28 May 1999.
