Consultation on updated authorisation guidelines and application forms

The Commerce Commission is consulting on updated drafts of its authorisation guidelines and the application forms for authorisations.
The updated draft guidelines cover both our analytical approach and process for assessing applications for authorisation of mergers and restrictive trade practices under sections 58 and 67 of the Commerce Act. A consultation note explaining some of the proposed changes can be found at the beginning of the draft guidelines.
The Commission seeks views and comments from interested parties on the proposed changes. To provide a submission or to arrange a time to meet with Commission staff, please email us at mergers@comcom.govt.nz with the reference “Authorisation Guidance” in the subject line.
The consultation period closes at 5pm on 6 September 2019.
