We have published a webpage explaining more about the estimated impact of these decisions on consumer electricity bills. You can read more about this on our website.

Current step in the process

On 20 November 2024, we published our final decision for the electricity price-quality path. You can view our final decision documents under the ‘Documents’ tab, below.

Also on 20 November 2024, we published our final decision on the amendments to input methodologies for electricity distribution businesses relating to wash-up amounts. You can find our final decision documents under the ‘Documents’ tab, below

On 3 September 2024, we published the draft reasons paper on the proposed amendments to input methodologies for electricity distribution businesses, gas pipeline businesses and Transpower relating to insurance entitlements, other compensatory entitlements, and other regulated income. We consulted on our draft decision and intend to publish our final decision on this matter by the end of 2024.

We are also progressing several other amendments to the input methodologies. Draft reasons papers and draft determinations will be made available for stakeholder feedback by the end of 2024. Further details can be found in the Notices of Intention in the ‘Documents’ section at the end of this page.

Our draft decision

When we published our draft decision in May, Commissioner Vhari McWha hosted a presentation to stakeholders and media with a Q&A session. The video is linked below.  The ‘Documents’ section at the bottom has the draft decision package, which includes the draft decision reasons paper, draft determination and models.
