The current Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS) cost calculation covers the period from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021.
The Commission determined the total cost to the Government to provide relay services each year, which was then paid for from the Telecommunications Development Levy.
Sprint was contracted to provide relay services to meet the communication needs of the deaf, deafblind, hearing impaired, and speech impaired. Sprint was compensated for the provision of the relay services by the Government.
We consulted on the draft cost calculation determination for 2020/21 and received no submissions.
