Section 30R reviews of the copper standard terms determinations
This page was updated1 year ago
In 2019, the Commission completed section 30R reviews of the terms specified in five standard terms determinations (the STDs).
Under section 30R(1) of the Telecommunications Act 2001, the Commission decided to commence reviews into the terms specified in five STDs.
Section 30R reviews of the STDs were required in order to implement changes to the Telecommunications Act 2001. Changes introduced with the Telecommunications (New Regulatory Framework) Amendment Act 2018 removed Chorus’s unbundled copper local loop network (UCLL) service from Schedule 1 of the Act with effect from 1 January 2020, and prescribed a new annual pricing adjustment mechanism with effect from 16 December 2019.
We commenced the reviews in October 2019 and the reviews were finalised in December 2019 with an effective date of 15 December 2019.
