Under the Telecommunications Act 2001 (the Act), the Commission is required once every five years to consider whether there are reasonable grounds to commence an investigation into the deregulation of certain services, including MTAS.

The current review requires the Commission to consider whether there are reasonable grounds to commence an investigation by 2 September 2025.

MTAS became a regulated service on 23 September 2010. The Commission completed its last review on 2 September 2020, where no reasonable grounds were found.

More information about MTAS, including previous reviews and the standard terms determination can be found on our Mobile Termination Access Services page.
